History The Chakravarty Cup - named very kindly after Saroj Chakravarty, a patron of The Prince’s Trust, by HRH The Prince of Wales himself - is an annual event created to raise funds and sponsorships for the charities supported by The Royal Family. HRH The Prince of Wales took part for the first nine years and has now retired, but Prince William and Prince Harry have now taken over and they are the Royal Patrons of the Charities which normally benefit from this event.
Started in 1997, The Chakravarty Cup has become not only an important international event over the years but also has proven to be a successful liaison between arts, sports, influential international businessmen and the Royal charities.
The event is also popular with foreign diplomats – in recent years these have included the Ambassadors of the USA, Germany, Denmark, Argentina, Japan, Luxemburg, Belgium and the High Commissioners of India and Canada. Celebrity guests have included Richard E Grant, Jerry Hall, Jonathan Hoult, Robert Pattinson, Anna Popplewell, and Bill Wyman.
The Cup’s total donations have now exceeded £1 million pounds. ![]() ![]() | ||
